I graduated from Auburn University in 2000 with a degree in Visual Communications, and I've spent the time since designing across a wide range of mediums — but digital has always been where my heart is. I've been part of multiple startups, worn a lot of hats, and developed a genuine appreciation for the business side of building products, not just the craft side.
Over the past several years, I've gone deep on product and UX design — leading design at companies ranging from healthcare SaaS to blockchain fintech to an AI assistant for veterinarians. I've built design systems from scratch, established component libraries, run user research, and shipped products that real people use every day. At HappyDoc, I came in as the first and only designer and built everything from the ground up, including the brand.
I'm also someone who genuinely loves what's happening at the intersection of design and AI. I use tools like Claude and ChatGPT as part of my creative process — for ideation, rapid iteration, and exploring problems from new angles. I'm currently learning Figma MCP and Claude Code, and I think the designers who lean into these tools are going to do their best work yet.
Outside of work, I'm most alive when I'm moving. Weekly trail runs and HIIT workouts are non-negotiables for me — less about the fitness metrics and more about the headspace. There's something about hitting a trail or grinding through a hard workout that resets everything and keeps me sharp. It also doesn't hurt that designing for real humans is a lot easier when you remember what it feels like to actually be one.
I'm currently looking for a remote Senior or Lead Product Designer role — ideally somewhere small enough that your work moves the needle, and purposeful enough that it's worth caring about. If that sounds like a fit, I'd love to talk.
